APPLIED CARD SYSTEMS, an affiliate of Roch Capital Inc., is hiring Information Technology Systems Trainees who will be responsible for executing department-specific tasks and discharging related duties based upon functional knowledge obtained through dedicated exposure in one or more areas within the Information Technology department including, but not limited to: IT Communications, Production Support, QA Analytics, Windows Systems Administration, Unix Administration, CRM & Mobile Support, and Information Security.

This position reports into the Glen Mills, PA Headquarters Monday - Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm

Learning Objectives:

  • Within the framework of a Microsoft Windows environment, assist the Senior Client Server Technician and/or Engineer with the configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server based components of existing/new networks and associated assemblies; answer client inquiries in person and via telephone concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including: printing, electronic mail, network communications, applications software operations and operating systems, as well as install, configure, and maintain PC desktop equipment.
  • Provide systems support for our business systems, by diagnosing hardware, software, and networking problems; perform installation, repair, and preventative maintenance, track and document work in our ticketing system, set up and configure new workstations, install and update software, perform virus removals, clean up and tune systems as well as providing remote, telephone, and onsite support.
  • Assist Senior Systems Administrator in the implementation and management of the Unix based systems of the Company, including both in-house and third party software; as well as all aspects of Unix systems management including performance monitoring and tuning, backup and recovery, hardware and software maintenance, capacity planning, and implementation of advanced design concepts.
  • Learn the processes, procedures, and methods used in monitoring all systems in the enterprise as it relates to data security and data integrity. This position will also be responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the Company in the areas of reporting security-related issues and applications across the enterprise.

Education & Experience:

  • Degree from an accredited (two or four year) college or university in Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Information System Management, or other technology related disciplines.
  • One year in an IT Support Role, or internship/co-op experience preferred
