The Senior Real Estate Investment Analyst will provide analysis and support for potential commercial real estate investment/acquisition opportunities that match portfolio goals.   Once assets are under management, the candidate will assist with the ongoing analysis of the operations and performance of the existing portfolio of properties. As the senior analyst, this position will have some oversight over the remainder of the analyst team.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Work daily with property specific information to determine potential investment returns. 
  • Construct, manipulate, and continuously modify Excel-based models to calculate returns including IRR, NPV, and cash returns, both on a property level basis, as well as Roch-specific returns if proceeds split on a joint venture basis in some cases.
  • Support the transaction process in order to complete due diligence on targeted acquisitions.
  • Gather, monitor, and produce information regarding target geographical markets and target property types.
  • Prepare and review a variety of analysis regarding existing portfolio of properties, including but not limited to budgets, operating statements, appraisals, market surveys and studies. 
  • Work with property management to ensure proper execution of business plan.
  • Support ad hoc group activities including research projects, new supply/competition reports, potential dispositions, expense analysis, contract analysis, and budget vs. actual comparisons.
  • Administrative support including the maintenance of deal flow database (Sugar), submission and tracking of Confidentiality Agreements, and setup of new deal specific files as well as other organizational responsibilities.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgement in the performance of senior analytical responsibilities.
  • Directs and oversees the real estate analyst team, to ensure that workflow is delegated efficiently.
  • Functions as the initial reviewer on work submitted from junior analysts, to make sure it is error free and presentation ready.

 

Education & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.  Hospitality specialization preferable.  Concentration in Finance, Accounting, or another business-related field also acceptable. 
  • MBA a plus but not required
