The Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for developing and driving QA testing strategies and plans for application development using RPG, Java, and N-tier technologies. The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst is also accountable for working with Project Management as well as Application Development staff to ensure Quality Assurance integration throughout the System Development Life Cycle.


Essential Functions:

  • Interfaces with various IT groups to ensure Quality Assurance integration throughout the System Development Life Cycle. Communicates with Project Managers, Programmers, Systems Analysts, and other IT Associates on project status and provides input relative to ensuring the quality of the product.
  • Handles multiple projects and work requests simultaneously.
  • Reviews Business Requirements and Technical Design Specifications to provide QA testing work level estimate.
  • Creates and executes test plan/strategy at the required level of detail for each work request.
  • Develops, documents, and executes test scripts, test matrices, and test cases at the required level of detail for each work request.
  • Responsible for defect tracking, communication, and resolution.
  • Provides all documentation and sign-off to the Project Manager and ensures all documentation appears on the work request form.
  • Votes on the Change Controls submitted for the work requests and monitors it through implementation.
  • Provides oversight of the Quality Assurance process and procedures being performed by non-QA Associates in Information Technology. QA oversight includes reviewing and assisting in the development of test cases, reviewing test documentation, reviewing test results, verifying test defects are resolved and providing QA sign-off on the project.
  • Provides leadership in the QA department by assisting QA Analysts and Associate QA Analysts as needed with QA Oversight responsibilities.
  • Reports on testing status and issues to the Project Manager and the QA Manager.
  • Provides all data requested by the Quality Assurance Manager necessary for reporting monthly metrics and departmental activity.
  • Accountable for actively participating in Research & Development initiatives to continually improve the QA department. Works on assignments provided by the QA Manager and/or recommends initiatives to enhance the department.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment in analyst responsibilities.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience working in a software or hardware, system test/QA environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the major languages, such as Java, RPG, C, C++, Perl, etc.
  • Experience with mobile device software testing.
  • Experience with OS/400, Unix, HTML, Windows, Android and iOS platforms
  • FDR knowledge preferred.
