The Accountant will support the COO and Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance / Accounting Department.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare accounting related journal entries
  • Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
  • Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors
  • Assist with payroll related items.
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
  • Provide input into department’s goal setting process
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Follow our company’s established accounting processes
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time - by the COO or Controller

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in Word and Excel - Ability to create and interpret spreadsheets is essential
  • Above average skills with Microsoft Excel. Must be able to create and utilize Pivot Tables, V-Lookup and Sum-IF formula driven workbooks.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to research financial and regulatory guidance independently
  • Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports
  • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to function well in a team oriented environment

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four year college or university required
  • 3+ years’ experience in accounting or related field
