The Senior Accountant provides general accounting functions for daily operations of the Applied Card Systems portfolio and affiliated enterprises through the responsibilities listed below.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Review and perform full accounting duties for credit card company, including calculation of monthly Allowance for Loan Losses.
  • Prepare Monthly financial statements.
  • Prepare and review Quarterly Board of Directors reporting.
  • Prepare and review Annual operating budget.
  • Assist in month-end account reconciliation preparation and review.       
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries for specific accounts to ensure accurate period-end accounting (accruals, intercompany, etc.) and revenue recognition is achieved.
  • Close the books of entities assigned, and assist with related consolidation.
  • Prepare variance analysis reports and ad hoc schedules, as required.
  • Provide timely and effective communications to management.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in fulfilling accounting responsibilities.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent organizational, motivational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office required.
  • Experience with Great Plains and FRx - preferred but not required.

Education & Work Experience:

  • CPA required.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university required.
  • 4-8 years relevant work experience desired (including internships); public accounting a plus.
  • Credit Card or Banking experience preferred but not required
